About the speaker

Jaydip Raut
Consultant Gynaecologist (Cancer Exclusion and Oncology) and Lead Colposcopist at both Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals.

Mr Raut has been practising Obstetrics and Gynaecology over 16 years, initially in India and in the UK from 2005. He completed all his post graduate training in the Nottingham region. He has had extensive experience in all aspects of the speciality during his specialist training in U.K. including at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, Nottingham City Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital, Derby. He had further trained as a Clinical Research Fellow for two years in Ovarian Cancer at Royal Derby Hospital, Derby and University of Nottingham

Sarah Vestey
Consultant Breast Surgeon, Thirlestaine Breast Centre

Miss Vestey is a Consultant breast surgeon with an interest in oncoplastic and breast reconstructive procedures.

She offers a range of breast operations for benign and cancerous conditions including immediate and delayed reconstructive surgery after mastectomy and wide local excision, and surgery to correct congenital asymmetry and cancer treatment related asymmetry including augmentation, reduction and mastopexy (uplift). She works closely with plastic surgical colleagues in Bristol to offer further microvascular surgical services for abdominal flap reconstructions.

I am currently a locum GP who also works as part of the NSS 2 week wait service and for the ICB medicines optimisation team. I trained in Gloucestershire and have worked here since I completed my GP training in 2015, initially as a GP partner for 6 years before moving to my current roles.

Parisa Wasley

Macmillan Next Steps Cancer Rehabilitation
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust

Parisa is a Cancer Specialist AHP and Joint Clinical Lead of the Macmillan Next Steps Team.
She has enjoyed an extensive career in Radiotherapy and specialised in helping patients to manage the psychological and physical impact of radiotherapy treatment as an On-Treatment Review Radiographer, mainly at Cheltenham Oncology Centre and subsequently the brand-new Worcester Oncology Centre where she set up and developed the radiotherapy review service. She has a special interest in palliative care and was fortunate enough to be able to complete an MSc in Palliative Care at The Cicely Saunders Institute
Parisa has worked for the Next Steps Team over 3 years. She has enjoyed the challenge of leading a team of different professions and helping to shape and develop the service. Since being with team she has facilitated opening the service to; lung, head and neck, gynae and upper GI cancer patients and has helped to secure a varied and highly skilled workforce. She is a HOPE Facilitator and Lead and regularly facilitates HOPE groups and workshops across Gloucestershire. She is passionate about supporting patients in their recovery and can provide 1:1 and group support to aide management of the consequences of cancer treatment and the impact a diagnosis can have.
