Why Produce a PLP?

"Learning is the process by which we have moved every step of the way since we first breathed" (Hutchinson 1982)

For us to survive and respond creatively to change we must LEARN. Learning is a dynamic and continuous activity that continues throughout life. It was Henry Ford who in his typical masterly fashion stated

"He who stops learning has grown old"

Now, as adults leading very busy professional lives it remains important to continue the process of adapting to changes the pace of which seems forever to change. But there seems so much to know...... How do we become selective and ensure that what we learn is relevant to our professional lives? and useful? and how do we learn efficiently?

This is the main thrust of the Personal Learning Plan.
